About Radiology Technologists

Meet the people working in the Radiology department which is a medical specialty that uses imaging to diagnose and treat diseases seen within the body. Radiologists use a variety of imaging techniques such as X-ray, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), nuclear medicine including positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to diagnose and/or treat diseases. Radiology Technologists are professionals that have been certified by the State of California to perform imaging with x-rays. They provide 2-dimensional imaging of the internal structures of the body to the physicians so that they can properly treat patients based on the information seen on the images. They can work in emergency rooms, operating rooms, heart catheterization labs and interventional radiology labs.
